I have an iPhone 5. Recently I've been having trouble with my letter O not working, and off and on, some of the other letters while texting, also backspace. It's making my texting very problematic. I take very good care of the phone.

Have you tried the basics from the manual?
restart, reset, restore
Did you already open the calculator app, turn the screen to landscape mode to get the scientific calculator and check if all keys are working. This way you can make sure that the touch screen is working.
To make sure that this is not software related or a glitch, follow these steps:
1. Force restart the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data.
2. In case this does not work, set it back to factory settings, without using the latest backup. Test the phone. If it works, restore from the backup.

3. If factory resetting does not help, get the phone checked by Apple:
