Q: Large photo library and time machine

We have an iMac late 2012 running latest El Captian. The photo library is very large. It seems that when ever any new photos are imported, Time Machine sees the photo library as changed and backs up the entire library.

Being that the photo library is a single package file, is this truly how Tiime Machine treats it. Anyway, other than breaking up photos into smaller library, to deal with this.

Thank you for any and all help

I do not see that - when I import photos TM only backs up the changes to the Photos (or iPhoto) library

What exactly are you seeing and why do you think this?

Which version of Photos do you have?

For me, Time Machine is only backing up the changes like Larry stated, but occasionally there are plenty of changes, after a sync with iCloud or after the library has been repaired.
