Sep 10, 2016 9:38 AM in response to Salmo7by seventy one,Could you be using batteries bought cheaply? Duracell, Eneloop and Energiser are the recommended ones. Others may fit badly or simply be of inferior manufacture. If this is the case and you buy new ones, do thoroughly clean out the battery compartment, specially the connection points. Do not put the new ones in until this is done.

Sep 10, 2016 10:11 AM in response to seventy oneby Salmo7,Sorry Seventy One! The quality of the batteries is not the problem... (I use Duracell Quantum) and the connections are top clean... For sure, it was the first thing I checked...
The heat comes from the bottom of the mouse, where the Apple icon is. It starts heating only after 1-2 minute after I install the batteries.
Thanks anyway!

It's okay. You hadn't mentioned what you had already done. At the bottom of the mouse is the battery compartment so if the batteries get hot, so too will the bottom of the mouse. You will have to try a new set of batteries before considering a replacement (they simply aren't repairable). Try not to use batteries from the same shop or pack because it is just possible yours may be fakes. This is more likely still if both batteries are warming up to similar levels.

Sep 10, 2016 2:39 PM in response to seventy oneby Salmo7,I am just arriving from the grocery store where I bought a pack of Energizer. After 2-3 minutes using the Magic Mouse, the batteries started to heat like all the others I have tried yet since a month. In fact, you made me notice that one becomes a lot warmer than the other... The Duracell Quantum came from a Wal-Mart.

Sep 10, 2016 11:44 PM in response to Salmo7by seventy one,Then I fear your problem lies with the mouse. But as you are on El Capitan and with Sierra on the horizon, I think it may be time to replace it anyway. The new version is specifically meant for the newer OSs so you would be looking to future needs. How long have you had the mouse?
I suppose it is 'just' possible that using it with El Capitan may be behind the overheating, though I have not heard of such before.

Sep 11, 2016 5:11 AM in response to seventy oneby Salmo7,I have had the mouse for something like 4 years now. Maybe 5, time passes so quickly. And now that you tell, I am wondering if actually the troubles started with El Capitan... In fact, I have replaced my mouse with a non-magic mouse many months ago when the heating started to worry me and I just dropped the Magic Mouse in a drawer . It is just that yesterday I had a moment to spare and when I saw the Magic Mouse lying in my drawer, I told myself maybe I could try to fix that problem. But I guess the mouse is actually dead, right?...
