Q: Re-Charging Macbook Pro

Why does the unit attached to the charging cable on my MacBook Pro (mid 2010 model 15.4"), become very warm - almost hot - when it is re-charging my laptop?

If you have been using this power adapter for a while, and it becomes hot while charging, it may have a short circuit in the magsafe head.

Make an appointment at the genius bar at an Apple store (if available to you, the appointment for a full evaluation is free) and see what they have to say about it.

The warranty on the Power adapter is bundled with the warranty on the MacBook. If not covered by warranty, you may end up having to buy a new Power Adapter.
