Some back story, My computer was running very slow and freezing left and right so after trying everything the only solution was to restore from backup using TimeMachine in recovery mode. Everything went ok but it didn't destroy from the latest back up (August 29) instead it did it from April. Now, I'm a novice at using TimeMachine so I thought, ok I'll just go into the TimeMachine app and go to august 29th and restore it. I must have done something wrong because after I flipped to the august 29th page and hit restore and a window popped up asking if I wanted to replace or keep both something like that, I didn't know what I was doing so I hit cancel hoping to just back out of everything but after I hit cancel it backed out but my entire desktop was gone and the background changed to the default El capitan picture. I went back into time machine and all the pages were blank
