Q: memory leak?
I have a MacBook Air, mid-2012, running OS 10.11.3, 4 gb memory. In Activity Monitor, the memory hog is kernel_task:
| kernel_tas | 523.0 MB | 0 bytes | 118 | 0 | 0 | root | 0 bytes | 0 bytes | 64 bit | 5.6 | 2:19:33.30 | 1.92 GB | 0 bytes | 0 bytes | No | No | No | 0 bytes | 0 bytes | 0 | 0 | - | 0 bytes | No | Yes |
It is using 1.92 GB of Real Memory.
I get continual notices that my disk is full. I run Memory Monitor regularly and keep all caches and downloads cleaned out. At this point iPhoto will not download my photos because my memory is full.
Any way I can fix this problem myself?
