Q: Choose between iPad Pro or MacBook Pro

I have the old heavy MacBook Pro. And I really like the dictation system. I'm developing arthritis and I need to be able to sometimes right and sometimes type. I also sometimes like to dictate. I'm having a hard time choosing whether to buy a new MacBook Pro which would mean I won't be able to write more buying the iPad Pro which won't let me run more than two apps simultaneously.

Perhaps, it makes more sense for me to try to find a writing pad that I can attach to a new, lighter  MacBook Pro that would permit hand writing recognition? But I can't find anything like that. Is there anything like that?

On the iPad Pro I can use the stack  keyboard  for handwriting recognition, and it also has dictation.   I don't know if anyone has experienced whether the iPad Pro dictation is similar to or different from or better than or worse than the MacBook Dictation?

The biggest drawback to the MacBook Pro for me is I need to be able to run the zoom video conferencing app, while also looking at PDF documents, and while also typing in the cloud.    The iPad Pro won't run all three systems simultaneously.  But the ability to sometimes be able to write and have my handwriting convert is very appealing.

The surface pro does all of these things, but I don't like typing on the surface pro keyboard. For my hands and my arthritis, the Mac keyboard is superior and I can type in credibly fast  The surface pro does all of these things, but I don't like typing on the surface pro keyboard. Is there any reason for me to wait? Perhaps the second-generation iPad pro will run more than two apps in split screen at a time?

any thoughts, suggestions for apps or add on tools are welcome.
