if my screen cracked and i get it fixed through a third party can i still trade my phone in ?

Trade it in to Apple? Probably not. But, you'd have to ask Apple directly.

The terms of Apple's Renew (trade-in) program partner in the US include, under the Display evaluation section:
"We do not accept:
Devices containing counterfeit or third party parts
Devices with unauthorized modifications"
