Q: Will not let me load pictures from memory into Photos on my new MacBook

I cannot load pictures from a memory card into Photos.  Know the memory card is half-way full...but nothing show up when I try this.

Am using MacBook version 10.11.5

How exactly are you doing this? Using a card reader? Using a USB connection? What camera? What has changed since it worked?

What else can you tell us?

    Dear HN:

Thank you for responding to my question!

I am using a card reader and a USB connection.  The pictures are visible in my camera--a Panasonic 16x Lumix.  If  I put the card reader in to my camera, I can see the shots I have taken.   However, when I put them into my new (8-23-2016) Apple MacBook computer, nothing happens!  I can't understand this--I used the "Import Picture" which does not work!  Everything I have tried and it simply will not import the photo in my new Apple MacBook.  What am I doing wrong?

It work in my late 2011 Apple and now it simply will not work in this new Apple!

while the card is mounted do you see it in the finder? If you launch Photos is it in the Photos sidebar?

Have you tried using Image Capture to import them?
