Griffin technology makes a device called iMic which digitizes audio and connects to your Mac. It is a good solution to connect to your CD player and digitize the audio out to digital file and send to the Mac. They also include digitizing software. It costs about $50 and is a great way to get your CD, turntable, radio audio into iMovie.
