Q: what audio sources can I use in iMovie?

In iMovie, what audio sources can I use?  I find that only iTunes songs seem to show up.  Can I use music from a CD?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

In addition to iTunes music you can use many  common digital audio files such as AIFF, MP3, AAC, Wave etc by drag and drop into iMovie. Griffin technology makes a device called iMic which digitizes audio and connects to your Mac. It is a good solution to connect to your CD player and digitize the audio out to digital file and send to the Mac. They also include digitizing software. It costs about $50 and is a great way to get your CD, turntable, radio audio into iMovie.
