I recently bought the iPhone 6s Plus and its running iOS 9.3.4, I was just on the wikipedia page and I said that it came with iOS 9. I was just wondering what iOS it should be running.

iPhones ship with the latest version of iOS available at the time
of manufacture. Go to Settings>General>Software Update to
either update your iOS to 9.3.5 or to verify that you have
already done so.
Also note iOS 10 will be released on September 13! Be sure you do Settings > General > Software Update on or shortly after that date.

Good idea, but for a major release I usually update using iTunes on a computer, rather than over the air, as it installs a complete image of iOS rather than patching the existing image.
When it is a new version, such as moving to iOS 10, it downloads the complete image and does not patch it.

I agree, and actually generally use iTunes to install the major releases as well.
