Q: unlock iphone to other carrier

My iphone is T mobile contract free which was buy from apple store. I want to unlock it to other carrier. But when I ask T mobile, they said they can't unlock it. Need Apple store to do this. How shall I do?

Unfortunately， T mobile can't unlock it because this is not purchased from T mobile store.

I buy it from apple store directly, so T mobile can't unlock it.

As stated in step 1 of the article @KiltedTim gave you:

"Only your carrier can unlock your iPhone."

Did you ever activate your iPhone with T-Mobile? Perhaps you need to do that.

When I got my phone, one card is in phone,but I have never used it, but use another T mobile card for 2 years
