No Bluetooth in iPhone7?

I understand not putting a headphone jack on the new phone but not having Bluetooth has really left my Daughter and I with a dilemma. We are already looking into new phones that have Bluetooth technology because a) I'm a truck driver and HAVE to have a Bluetooth headset for work and b) my daughter wears digital hearing aids that are Bluetooth capable both for adjusting them and for using them to listen to music or use the phone. You will be losing a lot of long time Apple users because of your choice to get rid of Bluetooth in the version 7 phone. Sorry we have to leave but out of necessity we have to.
I understand also that Carplay is still able to be used with 7 ....................... but when I am just going to the store down the street I don't always plug it in out of convenience and it still connected with Bluetooth.
I have always thought of Apple as a forward thinking company but in this case .............................. you are turning back the clock and are wrong in your thinking.

Apple has modified Bluetooth a bit for use with the AirPods. New chip dedicated for their new chip called the W1, but it is Bluetooth. Mostly pairing changes. Made it very simple.

It also has plain ol' Bluetooth 4.2LE for compatibility.

FYI, Bluetooth 5 is coming soon. Apple is a main partner in the Bluetooth group, so I can't see them abandoning it any time soon. Wouldn't surprise me to hear the 7 will be compatible with v5.

Your post is a classic example of simply failing to check your information before posting. A simple 2 second internet search would have confirmed your information was woefully incorrect.

Bluetooth standards are set by a consortium - https://www.bluetooth.com/ so you can always check the features and compatibility of new releases to BT at the consortium's web site. The consortium always does really try to ensure that full backwards compatibility is maintained, although obviously specific new features in BT 4.2 would not function in older devices that themselves did not support 4.2. But that still doesn't mean older devices won't work at all.
