Q: auto filling pricing into invoice

I am very new to this and am struggling with bringing data from a basic stocklist I have complied as a sheet , into a second  invoice.

I deally I would like to type the name of the product into a cell and have it fill another cell with the price based on the calculations occuring in the stocklist

    Hi lvlvlv,

    Here is an approach that uses both INDEX and MATCH. LOOKUP and VLOOKUP cover the same territory but INDEX/MATCH is clearer for me.

    B2= INDEX(stock list::B,MATCH(A2,stock list::A,0))

    INDEX is looking for the value in stock list::column B that is in the same row as the value in A2 of invoice.
