    You can store pictures and photos anywhere on the computer. Why should this have anything to do with age of the computer?

    Yes you can, my 2007 macbook still stores music and photos and documents no problem. If you are worried about space you could get a Airport or a external Hard drive.

    I am still using my 2007 black MacBook, I have replaced the hard drive twice, the original 160GB with a 500 GB and then a 750 GB drive, from OtherWorldComputing.  If you have one of the models that had an 80GB drive, you might find that you could run out of space easily if you are using one of the latest high resolution cameras.  My iPhoto Library is about 25 GB right now, but I am not a real high volume photographer, most of these are smaller image files taken by older lower resolution digital cameras. 

     

    The latest OS X you can run is probably 10.7 for that vintage machine, which won't be getting any new OS Security Updates, something to consider.
