Saving files on SMB shares, the permissions are changed

Hi all,

I installed Server5.1.7 on late 2010 iMac recently. When it comes to downloading the files saved by others from the public folder, every time I cannot do that because of the permission error.

As I found the same problem and in this community bellow, but I could not solve it with turning on the ALCs.

OS X Server: When saving files on SMB shares, the permissions might be changed so that only the owner can read or write …

I cannot change each permission for many files saved in public folder. I appreciate early reply.

Hi dwbrecovery,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have already done that.

Once this procedure be done, everything become OK. But the clients save new files after this procedure, those files and folders would have same problem. So I have to do check and fix every permission all the day.

According to others, this trouble is caused to extend samba protocol of osx 10.11 and will fixed on 10.12 Sierra.
