do you have to use both airpods at once or will they work only using one at a time

You can use just one AirPod for a call or using Siri, or both at the same time for listening to music in stereo.

it says its stops the music though when you take one out, can you manually restart the music then with one in? Sometimes people like to just have 1 in to hear surroundings etc

Just tried this. When listening to music (Spotify) on an iPhone, removing either airpod will pause the music. You can then manually restart the music, however, it will play through both airpods, even if only one is in your ear. When listening to music on your Mac, removing either airpod will not stop the music, but removing both airpods will transfer audio to play through your Mac speakers instead of the airpods.
