Q: The clock on my iPod 5 gen is running behind 15 or more.

TThe iPod is running up to 15 minutes or more behind. I have updated, reset (pushed the home and power button), turned the auto time on and off. I have also set it manually. Is This a glitch?  Also the iPod has been randomly turning off. I'm not sure if it is connected. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi, H2ocasa!

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. After reviewing your post, I understand that the time on your iPod touch 5th generation is about 15 minutes behind the actual time. I rely on my iPod's date and time settings for alarms and reminders, so I know it is important that it displays the correct time. I would be happy to help!

I would suggest using the following article, which will guide you through some troubleshooting to help with your iPod's date and time settings.

Get help with the date and time on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you are still having difficulty after going through that article, I can also recommend the following steps for you to try. Test after each step, stopping when the issue is resolved.

    1. Reset the settings on your iPod under Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not remove any of your content (like contacts, pictures and videos, calendar events, etc) but it will revert all customizable settings (your wallpaper and screen brightness, alert sounds, as well as others, specifically the Date & Time settings) back to their factory defaults. It will also remove any saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords, as well as any previously used APN or VPN settings.

    2. Back up your iPod, then restore it to factory settings. You can create a backup using iCloud or iTunes following the instructions in the article below.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once you've created your backup, you can use the following article to restore the iPod back to factory settings.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

After restoring the iPod, set it up as a new device (which means without putting the backup onto it, at least temporarily). Check to see if the time on your iPod is accurate. If so, you can restore your backup following the steps in this article:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

    Have a great day!
