Q: Sub-titles WHILE you edit??

Producer has shot a feature doc with many interviews.  The interviews are in Lithuanian, which the producer doesn't speak fluently.  Producer is wondering if there is some way she can work with a translator to create a transcription from the interviews, and then add sub-titles to the interview footage PRIOR to editing?; obviously so she can work on the material without the translator having to be there through the whole edit process.

I've created sub-titles after-the-fact many times.  But haven't a clue how to do it BEFORE the edit process.  With my limited experience I would have to create text boxes, line them up, and lock them with the interview segment clips.  A laborious process.

Just wondering if there might be some function in FCPX that would make this process easier?
