Q: Cleaning up completely a iMac 10.11.6

I am planning to replace my iMac (2011) by a iMac Pro.

My present iMac I like to give to a grand child who is very capable in daling with e.g. software of the Apple.

However I first want to completely clean up my present iMac and remove all private data and programs that are totally private and or of no use to my grandchild. I certainly want to definitely remove all personal data like financial data, email traffic in such a way that recovery is impossible.

In fact bring my iMac back to the factury status when I purchased it.

I understood that it is no problem for a capable user to "bring back to life" any programs and personal data that have been deleten in the iMac in the traditional way.

What is the best and most secure way to remove any and all user data on my iMac?

Thank you for your help!
