Q: Colors "refreshed" when watching Netflix, YouTube, etc. Is this normal?
When watching Netflix, the colors are sort of refreshed in some colorful scenes. For example, if the background has a very contrasting and bright green, that color will be suddenly toned down and then return to its original color. As I said, it doesn't happen all the time, and it only happens when watching videos in Full Screen. I've tried it with Chrome and Safari, to make sure it's not a browser error, and the same thing happens in both. Is this normal? Does the screen "calibrate" itself to balance the colors? It's very annoying, particularly at night with the lights off, as the Apple logo will also light up a bit when the colors "calibrate."
I used to have a MacBook Pro late 2011 (right before Retinas appeared), and I recently bought a Macbook Pro (Retina Display), early 2015. I did not have this problem with my old MacBook.
If it's of any help, here are my specs:
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
- 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
- 8 GB RAM
- Intel Iris Graphics 6100
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
