Q: RAM iMac 2009 (late) :; 21.5";  10.11.4/5

In Etre checking Beachballing, it notes that there is not enough RAM for some Apple procedures.  Many apps are no longer supported in my 2009 mode.

I recently purchased  from OWC. 4G RAM for my 21.5' IMac thinking it seemed easy enough for even me to install.  When i tried, the modules extended out about 1/8" more than the originals.  I could not budge the originals to remove and compare so i did not install the new ones.  Is it possible the newer modules are a bit larger than the originals?
