Q: using Icloud to transfer applications to new IPadPro

Hello,

I am wanting assistance in transferring my Keynote program (vers.Keynote 09, 5.0.5) from my G-4 Laptop (OS 10.5.8) to my newly purchased IPad Pro (OS 9.3.5). No one in local Apple Store seems to be able to help me.  In past I had used ITunes from G-4 to my IPad ()S 5.1.1) which I can still do, but I want to use video as well on the new IPad to enhance the presentation which I will soon give to a large audience. Video on old IPad is not accessible.  Can you advise please?  I have looked at ICloud on the old IPad, but my user name and password have changed and it might mess things up even more if I used that older name and password.  Time is of the essence here since I must have this presentation ready within a week. thanks so much. Your help is most appreciated.

If you're asking about transferring a Mac application to an iPad Pro, that's not possible.  Mac apps do not run on iOS device.  There is an iOS version of Keynote available on the (iOS) App Store.

If you are asking about syncing your iPad Pro to a Mac's iTunes library, you can do that IF the Mac and iPad are compatible.  But your iPad Pro is a recent model and your Mac is too old to sync it.  According to the tech specs for iPad Pro (under System Requirements)

    https://www.apple.com/ipad-pro/specs/

Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:

    • Mac: OS X v10.8.5 or later

    • PC: Windows 7 or later

    • iTunes 12.3.3 or later

However, iPads are a independent computing devices.  You can download previous purchases from the App Store (and iTunes Store) directly to your iPad Pro.  You must be signed in using the same Apple ID you used to make the previous purchase.

Download your past purchases - Apple Support

Actually, in the tech specs document for iPad Pro (linked above), it says that Keynote is one of the free apps from Apple, and it's pre-install on current iPads (with at least 32GB of storage).  So, Keynote should already be installed on your iPad Pro.
