Q: iPod 5th generation?

Why won't the iPod 5th generation be included in the new iOS 10 update on September 19, 2016? Here are a little bit of facts showing why the iPod 5 should be included. The iPod 5th gen. was released on October 11, 2012, while the iPhone 5 was released on September 12, 2012, making the iPod 5th gen. newer than the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 is being included in the iOS 10 update and the iPod 6th generation is also being included and both of the iPods are basically identical. So why won't the iPod 5th generation be included also?

    Because, it is not a matter of age or release date. The iPod 5 doesn't have the required hardware to accept iOS 10, the iPhone 5 does.

    Even though iPod Touch 5th & 6th gen models look alike on the outside, on the inside the two are totally different in hardware specs.

    The iPod Touch 6th gen comes the closest in specs to an actual iPhone 6, without the phone, than previous iPod Touch models ever did.

    The 5th gen iPod Touch is over 4 years old. Plus, it never came close to matching the specs of an iPhone 5.

    The technology in the 6th gen iPod Touch was introduced last year and has the more recent hardware specs to support iOS 10.

    The biggest differences between the iPod 5th and 6th generation are

    iPod touch 5th generation has a 32-bit architecture, 512 MB memory and 2 graphics cores

    whereas iPod touch 6th generation has a 64-bitarchitecture , 1 GB memory and 4 graphics cores.
