Q: Copying Backups.backupdb keeps stalling

Hi all!

I recently purchased a larger external drive for my Time Machine backups to live in. I'm trying to move the backups over, but every time I do, something goes wrong and it stalls. I've let it sit all night, all day, and it still can't see to copy the backups. My Backups.backupdb folder is about 500 GB.

I had a thought to just create a new Backups.backupdb folder on the new drive and move the individual dated backup folders one at a time to this new folder. Would this cause any problems? I would assume not, but I'm not sure if Time Machine puts special information in those folders.

If that won't work, what should I do?
