Q: The Cello neck guide (little dots) are mis-aligned

Hi,

For the Cello (and presumably all the 'strings' instruments) there are 'dots' to help

locate where a particular note should be on the neck (similar to what you might

see on a guitar).

However, helpful as the 'could' be, they aren't aligned like i would expect.

(Mind you, I am not a Cellist).

On a guitar the 'dot' is in the center of the fret for the note you want to play

In GB(ioS) the 'dot' divides the two notes.

Also, why can't one play the open strings for these instruments?

Thanks.
