connecting pc screen to mac screen

Is there a way to connect a pc screen from laptop to mac screen but have it come up as a window instead of full screen. I generally use a vga cable that displays my pc screen on mac but i want to be able to do a screen flow recording having ipad screen (using airserver) and pc screen both seperate windows on my larger mac screen. Not sure if this is possible. thanks
