Q: I can't get my iPhone 5 to recognize an external mic using the Conwork mic splitter

I can't get my iPhone 5 to recognize a Conwork mic splitter. My iPad also will not recognize the splitter port. My iPhone and iPad instantly recognize the Apple headset with mic. Conwork advertises that their product works with iPhones. I am trying to use a dynamic shotgun microphone to shoot video with my iPhone and iPad.

there is no std for 3.5mm minijack headset with mic input apple handle it one way other manufactures handle it other ways, if the conwork mic splitter was not made the way apple handle it it will never work if they state apple compatibility I would contact them about the possibility of the converter being defect

    Rudegar,

You were right, the plugs were wrong. I went to the local electronics part store and got the right adapter.

Thank you for your fast response.
