Q: imovie problem

Helpppp! I am running iMovie 10 and I have an hour and a half long project that I have worked on for years. It's never been an issue with storage but it has hit its point. I am totally out of storage and I know most of it is taken up from that. Is there any way I can export is straight to a hard drive? It will not export bc of how big it is. I have plenty of room on my hard drive but I can figure out how to put it on there without exporting it. Anyone

Try creating a new library on the External HD and moving the project to it. In the project tab mouse over the project and click on the circle underneath. You should get a popup that allows you to move the project to the EHD library you created. If that doesn't work try in finder to drag the current library to the EHD. Note the EHD should be formatted MAC OS Extended journaled.

How would I go about making a new library on my external hard drive? I'm not good with that form of technology. and as an alternative how would i format my EHD into mac os extended journal?

Under the file menu select open library and choose new. You will get a window where you can name the library and choose where to save it. Select your EHD and do a get info on it to see what the format is. If it is not MAC OS Extended journaled then  use disk utility to reformat it.
