Q: iPhone 6 badge icons not working
Please bear with me, there is a lot going on, but I hope someone can help me. My iPhone reboots itself now and again, no biggie (I suppose). However, about 1.5 weeks ago, my iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 9.3.4 rebooted itself and then brought up the "Activate your new iPhone screen." It wouldn't work for a while - it had trouble "contacting the servers," but once I got onto a WiFi network, I went through the steps to activate the phone. Once I did, the entire phone was the same (all apps, etc.) but I needed to re-connect to all bluetooth devices and WiFi networks.
Later, I tried to update to iOS 9.3.5, and it WOULD NOT WORK over the air...it would download and then just hanging at "preparing update..." - I rebooted and tried multiple times...it wouldn't even work through iTunes on my mac. I had to direct download the IPSW and reloaded the ENTIRE 2 GB iOS onto the phone and restore the backup.
But, now, I have 2 VERY strange behaviors:
1) My Alarm will not work. I can create a new alarm, switch the slider to "on"...then close the clock app. When I re-open the clock app...the slider is switched to gray (off). No matter what I do, delete the alarm, make a new one, reboot the phone...still will not stay ON.
2) Badge app icons are not working. Someone will send me a text (say in Line, or Facebook messenger or iMessage) and the badge app icon may not shop up at all. BUT, if I go into the application, I may see 2 texts...I can answer...but when I close the app, the badge shows up with the number "2". So, the badge app icon NOW shows the 2 messages, but I have ALREADY READ them. The sounds and vibrations work fine, but the badge icon does not work...or intermittently at best.
So, summary:
iOS 9.3.4
Phone rebooted to Activation Process
re-created all wifi and bluetooth connections
tried to update iOS 9.3.5
couldn't get it to work
full reinstall of iOS 9.3.5
now alarm clock and badge app icons no longer work
Any ideas?
