I plugged a fan into my lightning port and now my phone won't charge

I Plugged a seemingly innocent fan into my iPhone six lightning port, and now my phone will not take a charge? Do I need a new phone or is it repairable?

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular (MM), iOS 6.1.3

I wasn't chastising. I was trying to point out the dangers of plugging cheap junk that doesn't meet Apple's standards into the lightning port of your phone. Problems with uncertified lightning cables physically damaging iPhones are well documented.

If the phone was damaged by the fan, what needs to occur to 'correct' the charging issue is an out of warranty replacement phone from Apple.

SO, it looks like I dodged a bullet at this point. The charge rate has improved. There was the original reboot from the battery depleting, Continued charging and disconnecting and using the phone and then reconnecting and charging using different APPLE charge equipments, the charge rate is acceptable.

So the power surge/spike created by disconnecting the operating fan motor did not fry circuitry. Only an anuerism not a heart attack.

IT is funny, this product is sold on Amazon for $.99 plus $1.99 shipping, return shipping is on the consumer. Go figure. I bought mine at a convenience shop in Mandalay Bay Resort.

THanks to all for the support. Since there is a happy ending (so far), this has been a comedy. Good times.

THanks again.

Hi ToyotaTech - was it by chance this fan? Kikkerland Super Phone Fan: http://www.onlinesciencemall.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab335 25d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/p/iphone_fan_-_white.jpg

I have encountered a similar issue - if i let my phone run out of juice, it takes at least an hour for the phone to get enough charge to power on. It is also very slow to charge as well.

my fan did not come in a fancy package like that, but yes, that is the fan. Obviously the current draw from the fan and the power spike when disconnecting it, the battery doesn't like. Not to mention that the charge port really wasn't designed to be a discharge port. I had the same charge issues and finally my battery wouldn't take a charge anymore. I had to replace the battery. $40 later, the phone is back to normal.
