also have this problem and iTunes support have been less than helpful....I can see it on the iTunes US store but not on the UK store......this is the drivel i got from them...:

Thanks for your email. I’ve had an update now and from what I was able to see is that the content should be available for redownload for you through your 'Purchased' section or accessible on your Apple TV in the same section.
To review the section, please follow the steps in this article:
Download your past purchases

Please make sure that you are signed into the correct account when reviewing your Purchases. If you cannot see the item in that section, please provide screenshots of this, so that I can look further into why it is not available for you.
The screenshots should show both the ‘All’ and ‘Not in My Library’ tabs, for TV Shows.
In Mac OS X, you can take a screenshot of your entire screen or a portion of your screen. See this page to learn how:
