Q: I purchased a new macbook Pro and I can't get my iMessage to work any advice?

I recently purchased a macbook Pro and I am not able to send messages via iMessage. It keeps saying that the person i am sending a message to is not an iMessage user. It was working and then all of a sudden just stopped. Any advice?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), iOS 9.3.5

It takes two to tango.
If your recipient has Internet connection difficulties, you won't be able to use iMessage unless you also have an iPhone link to your Mac for SMS.
