Q: Microsoft Software Virtualization for MAC

Hello, I am in the process of purchasing a new Macbook Pro laptop and have been a Windows user my entire life. As part of this process I am looking to use Microsoft Project software in MAC laptop. Through some research I have been able to identify that Microsoft Project is not made for MAC and the alternatives will not work for me as I use MS Project at work. As such I am looking for a way to use MS Project on MAC laptops and have narrowed it down to using a "PC emulator", which pretty much virtualizes a Windows platform on the MAC for users to be able to use software native to Windows. Therefore, would like to obtain a list of MAC approved/recommended PC Emulators, if available, before making my Mac purchase. Thus far, below is a list of the potential candidates a quick search resulted in:

Would like to use one that poses the least amount of vulnerability risk to the MAC OS.

- I've been using Parallels Desktop for a few years now and have not had any issues.
- Parallels Desktop is mentioned on the Apple Store: Parallels

Not specifically related to your question but you could simply use Bootcamp. Bootcamp is part of OS X and offers you the facility to create a partition where you can install your preferred flavour of Windows. The assistant does it all for you although you do need to have your ducks lined up first. The following explains the process:

This is probably something you won't be aware of but, unlike a PC which has Windows pre-installed, installing it on a Mac can take a while so be prepared for the time it's going to take.
