It is said that Apple has never offered sim-free option during the pre-order period.

So how long would it typically take for people like me who do not want to bother and are willing to wait to see Apple release sim-free option on iPhone 7?

It is usually around 30 days from the release date, which for the iPhone 7 is September 16th.
