Macbook Pro Screen Marks

I've had my Macbook Pro since mid 2012 but in the last year and a half I have noticed that marks are now appearing on the screen. Even though I clean it the marks still remain, it's almost like something has eaten away at screen. I have attached an image below so people have an idea of the issue. Does anyone know what this problem is and if there a cheap way of fixing it? It's no longer under warranty, but would apple fix this? Ignore the white dots, that's just the roof lights reflecting.

That appears to be the antireflective coating peeling. Last year, Apple launched a quality program to replace screens with this problem for free until either October 16 of this year or three years after the original purchase date. Since you've had your computer for more than three years, you have about a month to qualify for a free repair. There is no official information about this on Apple's website, however this MacRumors article seems legitimate. I successfully had my screen replaced for free out of warranty for the same issue.
