Q: shared computers...same network only?
My sharing options are not selected. BUT, would like to know if the computer that shows as shared, has to be on the same wifi network or can it be different. Im currently connected to a home wifi and was not aware of any devices or computers other than mine. Can it show the service provided router? its the only thing i can think of.

File sharing requires that all devices involved are on the same network. If you have more than one router - i.e. if you have a service-provided router and an Airport connected to it, then only the router should be handing out IP addresses: the Airport needs to be in 'bridge mode', passing IP numbers through without allocating it itself - modern Airports should detect the necessity for this and set it up automatically. If you have the Airport providing a different network to the router, devices connected to the Airport cannot see devices connected directly to the router, though devices connected to the router should be able to see devices connected to the Airport.
