Q: USB port not working and old battery
Hello everyone,
I own a mid-2012 Macbook Pro 13" with OS X 10.11.6, that I will soon upgrade with a SSD and 16Go RAM.
But, I have a problem : my USB Ports are not working very well. I updated everything, reset SMC and PRAM, but still, it's not working.
It looks like they can't give enough power to my devices. When I plug an external drive which is not powered by the Macbook, it works. But when I plug my iPhone or my travel external drive, it's a bit random. Sometimes, when I plug my iPhone, it starts charging. Then stop. Then restart etc...
So that's why I'm talking about the "old battery". On this page (Determining battery cycle count for Mac notebooks - Apple Support) they say that cycle count is 1000 for my MBP, and I'm now on my 946 cycle.
So I was wondering if changing the battery would help me on that.
Thanks !
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), null
