Q: Retrieve original iBooks Author file?

Hello,

Is it possible to download the original iBooks Author file from the iBooks portal from Apple? I'm sad to say that, unfortunately, I have deleted my original iBooks book, and can't find it in any of my backups. One of my last remaining hopes would be to download it from Apple. Is this possible?

IF you are asking is it possible to re-create a file that can be altered using the iBooks Author app from the .ibooks file then the answer is no. I expect only someone from Apple would be able to tell you if they store the material in other forms that might be more useful to you.

COpy and paste text will be some help ... I do hope you can locate any images and other included material. Good luck.

No.  The .iba file, which is what you need to edit your book with iBA,  is never sent to Apple, only the .ibooks file.  And as Pam said, the .ibooks file is not of any use for editing.
