I was getting the error message while i login iChat at osx 10.6.8.But i can login 10.9.5 and height version.

Check the Server Settings tab.
If the Original Login was on port 5223 and using SSL then the "new" set up will need to do the same.

Thank you for your response. but there is useless for it i have try . i set up the account same as OSX 10.9.5 while it always show the error "ichat cant log in to XXXXXXX.com because your login ID or password is incorrect."

I just re-read that and see I have got it the wrong way round.
If it works in OS X 10.9 and higher then you need to check the server settings to check what Port it is using and whether it is using SSL.
You may also need to compare the other 4 selection you can make.

I am on Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and the following server and port combination are working for me. (FYI i am also using openDNS and Google DNS entries—not sure if that makes any difference, but some other threads have concluded that certain ISPs seem to be blocked by AOL).

All the other pics deal with a Jabber login in Snow Leopard (iChat 5.x.x.)
There should be no difference in that Jabber login across the different versions of iChat and Messages that they talk about.
Jabber Logins are either on port 5222 without using SSL or port 5223 if they require it.
As some Jabber servers are private and not Public (such as in-house Server) there can be issues about the Jabber Server app has been set up on the Server involved.
Most likely it is probably about the 4 sub tick boxes about how the password is sent or if the server and port and set to be found automatically.
Actually Snow Leopard only has three tick boxes in the Server settings (it does not have the one about sending Files insecurely)
