Adding rows based on a unique set from other table

I have a set of data in a table and are making total based on the name given in the main data table

SUMIF($model;$A;Table 1::$total)

This works fine, but I need to manually add every possible entry as a row in that view table. Is this something that can be automated?

If I understand you correctly you can use this Copy Distinct Automator Service (Dropbox download).

To install double-click the downloaded .workflow package and if necessary give permission at System Preferences > Security & Privacy. (You may also need to check Automator.app at System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility.)

To use:

  1. Select the cells in column containing the values.
  2. Choose 'Copy Distinct' from your Numbers > Services menu.
  3. Click once in the top destination cell.
  4. Command-v or Edit > Paste and Match Style to paste.

You should have it up and working in less than a minute.
