Q: I bought an book on my iPhone. I see the book on my iPad pro but it will not download or open.

I bought a book using my iPhone 6S, paid for it and have receipt.  Opened "books" in my new iPad Pro.  The book is there, but the blue circle and blue dot are visible but the book doesn't open or download.  I have a cloud count and all my devices are linked.

Why can't I get it open on my iPad?

Close iBooks completely, restart the iPad and then try again.

In order to close iBooks, press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps. Swipe left to find iBooks. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If it still won't download, go to Settings>Airplane Mode>On. That will disconnect you from WiFi, Restart the iPad again, go back to the settings and turn Airplane mode off, then try again.

None of the above comments worked.  I tried both from Apple Support and Demos.

Not sure what to do next, but I want to resolve it.

    Any other ideas?

You said that the blue circle and blue dot are visible, but you didn't give any details as to what happens when you tap on them. I realize that you're not having any success, but does the circle start to rotate at all like it is starting to download?

Try a forced restart. No data is lost with this procedure. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

    Hi Demo,

When I click on the circle, it turns gray and nothing happens, sometimes when I click the blue circle and blue square inside it disappears and the circle stays gray.

It never spins like it does when it is actually downloading.  It just stays there, gray.

I tried the forced restart, now there is a gray cloud with a blue arrow pointing down.

I click on the cloud and the cloud disappears and the blue circle replaces it, no blue square, nothing more happens

You might try signing out of iTunes and back in again. Under Settings > iTunes, tap your Apple ID and you'll get a popup with the sign out option. I assume you are using the same ID on both devices.

Also, you are on WiFi while trying to do this? It won't work on cellular.
