Getting 16gig ram on Macbook Pro 13' Mid 2012

Question

I'v heard that you can get up to 16 gig of ram on a (non retina) Macbook pro 13' Mid 2012. This was true with i7, but can I do it with an i5?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Yes, you need two PC3-12800 DDR3L chips 8GB each.

You can also upgrade the hard-drive with an SSD for best performance.
