Is it possible to upgrade a Intel Core 2 Duo to a Intel Core i7

Hello, I have a late 2009 iMac with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU. Is it possible to upgrade to an Intel Core i7 Here are my tech specs.

Even if it is possible, you would be crippling the new CPU by putting it in a system whose bus speeds can come close to what the cpu is capable of. It would be a waste of time and money. You'd be better off just buying a new machine.

Not without replacing the entire mother board, which means you're effectively just getting a new Mac. I'm not even sure it's physically possible to socket a new CPU in your system. Someone may sell a kit that will allow you to install a new CPU if the CPU is socketed and not soldered, but it's a waste of money.
