Q: Time Machine wireless speed
I have an old style Time Capsule with 500 Gb drive and wireless spec 802.11a/b/g/n. [Still working fine per specs]
I use it to back up my Macbook Pro Retina/ 500 GB flash memory.
Two problems:
1. Not enough storage for backups w/o constant delays erasing older backups.
2. Wireless speed to slow to avoid slowing down computer during backup operations. [Have been only backing up periodically via ethernet]
My question: Will the latest TC (3.0 TB / 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) improve wireless speed enough to avoid slowing down other apps during backups? [Note: Signal strength is no problem - get strong signal throughout my house.]
Thanks for any advice
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

In theory, yes. However, no one here can make any guarantees of what exact improvements the latest TC will provide you.
The first generation TCs had a bad track record when it comes to power supplies. A number of them failed within a year ... so the fact that you had yours this long would be fantastic. Apple has not released any technical details (sans what is provided in Apple Support - Specifications) on what actual improvements have been included with each generation, except the internal hard drive size.
Fortunately, Apple does provide a return policy just in case it doesn't meet your performance requirements.
