Q: app download

I need to download an app that was purchased on my i-pad and now need for Mac.   My i-pad has crashed

Apps that run on an iPad will not run on a Mac. The iPad uses the iOS operating system and the Mac uses OS X. There are some apps where 2 versions with the same name and similar capabilities are available -- one for the iPad and one for the Mac. In many of the cases you need to pay separately. Most Mac apps are downloaded via Apple menu > App Store.

 

If you reply with the name of the app I may be able to give you a more specific answer regarding whether you will need to pay for the Mac version after you have paid for the iPad version.
