Q: Macbook Air and HP Printer

I have a Macbook Air running El Capitan.  The MBA is connected to the HP Laserjet p1102w, firmware 20150114, and is not working.  Each time you disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to the MBA, you get this message: The disk you inserted is not readable on this computer, Ignore or Eject.

I have seen this message appear on 3 other MBAs running El Capitan and the same printer.  Apparently, upgrading the printer firmware didn't solve the problem. It was only a temporary solution. I ran the Disk utility and the drive appears to be ok.

There is something going on with this type of printer (Laserjet p1102w), Macbook Air and El Capitan. I am not sure if it is the MBA or printer that is causing the above message.

I need to have permanent solution.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
