Q: IPAD STOPS WORKING

My i pad 2  is dead. I connect it to a  laptop in i tunes and they say that the i pad 2 is in recovery mode and to update and restore it .I click to restore and the apple icon  is on my screen and a line underneath is beginning to turn brighter. and in I tunes it said that the I pad is still  being restored and that I have to wait until it is finished. After many hours of waiting nothing happens and when I clicked done it said that an error 9 happened  and it could not be restored .I once  tried to press the two buttons at the same time and the  i pad became alive .

As long as the i pad was connected with the charger it was okay but as soon as I unplugged it from the charger it  is dead again. What can I do to fix the problem?  Thanks.

Thanks for your advice. I have tried this but nothing happened.  Now I remember all these problems have started happening after i said ok to an advice of Apple to accept to ' upgrade between 2am and 4am '.

The next morning my i pad was dead.  So much for the upgrade, instead of making my I pad to work better , it was, damaging it.!!!!!!!!!!

Error 9 is a security software issue. Have you tried disabling your anti-virus software? What version of Windows are you using? Once you do the reset (2-button hold) does the device start again like you indicated earlier? If the device goes down again when you unplug it from the wall, it would seem there is something else wrong, possibly the battery. If you accepted the update to occur OTA, it is possible there was an interruption in the download/install that corrupted it and would have required you to restore the device. The restore should have completed, except for the error 9, which is what you needed to check on. What version number of iTunes are you using? Go to Help>About iTunes, and then report that number.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store and they can examine the device, diagnose the issue, and explain your options from there.
