My iPad is giving me a critical security warning for malicious award attack with error code WBACK7917 and a number to call to fix the problem.this intern is not allowing me to go onto safari.

Can anyone advise me on how to fix this?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Do not call, it is a scam. Delete the Safari cache this way:

Close Safari completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Safari preview pane until it disappears from the screen. Then go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. Then restart the device.
