After replacing a broken 6+ and downloading the latest backup error 5002 appeared on my MacBook Pro.

Some research revealed the following steps:

1. Update your iTunes to Latest Version.

2. Change your account information

  • Restart your computer and Launch iTunes.
  • Login to the iTunes Store with your account.
  • Go to Change Account Information > Remove your credit card information.
  • Click on Continue.
  • Restart your computer again
  • Login to the iTunes Store > Account Information> Fill out your credit card information again.
  • Click Continue to save the setting.

In my case these steps did not fix the issue. Some further research came up with "remove everything from my wish list" which I did using my 6+. I then logged back into iTunes on the Mac and the error was gone. 🙂
